Do you know how the different parts of your blood work?

Blood helps make our bodies work, and our blood is made up of different parts, or COMPONENTS. These COMPONENTS include:

  • Platelets: the part of the blood that causes a thickening and sealing of breaks in blood vessel walls. Did you ever get a cut that bled for awhile, then stopped? Those were your platelets at work, helping your blood to CLOT.
  • Plasma: This is the fluid part of your blood.
  • Red Blood Cells:This component of blood helps carry oxygen throughout your body, and is what makes your blood red!
  • White Blood Cells: These cells attack germs that could make us sick!
