Nothing is quite as rewarding as knowing you've helped make a Positive difference in someone's life. Hosting a blood drive in your community is a great way to help patients in need, and it can also be great fun!

In order to sponsor a blood drive, you may be asked to do one or all of the following:

  • Provide a site for your blood drive - Do you belong to a club or organization that's looking to become more involved in your community? Some great places to have a blood drive include churches, halls, gymnasiums, conference rooms, and vacant store fronts.

  • Work with your Red Cross Representative to publicize your blood drive - There are many ways to get the word out about your blood drive, including posters, press releases and presentations. Your Red Cross Representative will help you find the best way to customize your message!

  • Form a donor recruitment team - Word-of-mouth is the best recruitment tool, and the more recruiters you can find, the better!

  • Provide canteen - At the canteen, donors are treated to snacks and refreshments…it's the last stop your donors will make, so you'll want to leave a lasting impression.

To learn more about sponsoring a blood drive, call your American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE and ask for your local Donor Resources Field Representative.
