Did you know that at least one out of every ten hospital patients, or one patient every two seconds, requires a blood transfusion? Just one unit of donated blood may help save the lives of several people.

Giving your gift of blood is a relatively simple, yet caring, way to make a difference in your community. In order to give whole blood, you must:
  • The minimum age to donate is 17 years in Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia and 16 years in Maryland and Pennsylvania, with parental consent. There is no upper age limit.
  • Weigh at least 110 pounds;
  • Be in generally good health.

Normally, you can safely give blood every 56 days. You can call 1-800-542-5663, extension 2549, 2552 or 2554 for answers to specific donor eligibility questions.

Together, we can save a life.

You can find a bloodmobile near you by choosing your state from the list at the left.
